Post surgery update

This is Robert's Wife Alexis posting an update. Robert came through the surgery great. It was an 11 hour surgery. They doctors came out and spoke with my mother in law, and I and said that they successfully finished. They were able to get all of the tumor. The balance nerve and the hearing nerve were both sacrificed but that was not expected.


He is now sleeping quietly. I am heading that way myself.

The struggles many faced with job issues, medical issues, family uncertainty, and more made it hard to hold on to Peace. Part of the problem I think is that we were trying to find our own peace. We may go sit in a dark and quiet room, take a long hot bath, listen to some music, spend time in the workshop, sew, or whatever we think will help us step away from the craziness that is getting to us. Doing these types of things to bring calm may help for a while, they may help us step away, but the reality is they do not help us to have the full Peace of the Lord

Sermon Notes - Revelation 3:7-13 - Letter to Philadelphia - Littleby Baptist Church - June 27, 2021

  1.      Five letters so far and we see re-occurring themes. a.       Love God more than anything else. b.      As followers our Hope is in our Jesus and our Name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. c.       Trust in the Word of God, make it a priority. d.      Let our Love for God and His Word, drive us to serve Him and Others. e.       Sounds like what we would call a normal Christian walk. 2.      Philadelphia a.       With Sardis we finished 3 sides of a rough parallelogram. b.      From Sardis we are heading 28 miles to the southeast, mostly east. c.       Named for Attalus Philadelphus king of Pergamos, who died 138 BC. d.      Area is plagued with earthquakes but has fertile land so many farmers and few city dwellers. e.       Today is called Allah Shehr, the City of God with a population of 40K. f.       Had a strong Christian and Catholic presence until about 100 years ago. g.      6 th of the 7 letters, but the 2 nd of 2 that Jesus does not reb

Message title: Jeremiah 29:11-14 God Has A Plan The Big Idea for message: Even when we do not understand why things are happening, during the good and the bad, God has a plan. Sticky Statement: Seek God with all that you have and He will restore you!! Misc: Before I get started this morning, I have a service announcement. Some of us have been using the NIV translation for up to 25 years now. Well Zonderzan, the publisher, is updating the NIV Bible. They are coming out with a 2011 version. I tend to be a fan of reading different Bible versions, but I want to caution everyone. The 1984 version of the NIV is a good Bible, a few years back they came out with the TNIV version which was gender neutral in a lot of places that was not right. In some places it referred to God in a gender neutral way, I do not agree with that. Now the new 2011 NIV is based more on the TNIV than the 1984 version of the NIV, so it has roughly 3600 gender ne
