Sermon - Things We Need... Awakening - Littleby Baptist Church - March 28, 2021

The first Things We Need list ended with our Need for a God given Revival. A Revival is something that every believer in our Lord Jesus needs at one point or another. We need to grow in our Faith and many need to return to their first Love, Jesus. The state of our churches today, with declining attendance is proof that we need Revival, we need people to turn to Jesus and follow Him as their Lord and Savior. For fifteen weeks we have looked at things that we Need that should bring us closer to our Lord. As we grow in Faith, get Excited about the Word of God, learn to walk with Humility and Wisdom, as we learn to Persevere to the end, while Depending on the Holy Spirit, we will be Revived. As we let God work in us, as we spread His Love, as we walk in Boldness, as we embrace Others, God will use us. As we faithfully serve our Lord there is a chance that our God will use us to bring about another Things We Need… Awakening! A Revival is a time when new life comes to those who are alr

Sermon - Things We Need... Dependence - Littleby Baptist Church - March 21, 2021

Last week we talked about how we are to embrace the Things We Need… Perseverance and give our all, in service to Our Lord. The thing is we are not meant to do it all on our own. “ 8  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8 Jesus was commanding His Disciples to be His witnesses. We are to start in our local communities and then let it spread from there until it reaches the ends of the earth. Being a witness can feel like riding a bike up a really steep hill against the wind. We can invite people and invite people, and no one wants to join us at church. We can talk about Jesus and sometimes get shunned, but what we need to remember is that He did not tell us to do it on our own strength. He told us that we will receive the power of the Holy Spirit. It is not by any power we have at our finger tips, it is not by the power of Perseverance, it is no

Sermon - Things We Need... Perseverance - Littleby Baptist Church - March 14, 2021

" 12  Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us,  2  keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3  For consider him who endured such hostility from sinners against himself, so that you won’t grow weary and give up.” – Hebrews 12:1-3 Sometimes people think that once they are saved life goes from hard to easy. They may envision that they will stroll gracefully from this life into the next one. It as if they feel that the goal is to cross the finish line with this earthly body being as pristine as possible, risking little, and doing the minimum. When I read these verses in Hebrews that is not the impression I get. Chris ran cross country in Junior High. Before each of

Sermon - Things We Need... Others - Littleby Baptist Church - March 7, 2020

“ 1  How delightfully good when brothers live together in harmony! 2  It is like fine oil on the head, running down on the beard, running down Aaron’s beard onto his robes. 3  It is like the dew of Hermon falling on the mountains of Zion. For there the Lord has appointed the blessing— life forevermore.” – Psalm 133:1-3 How wonderful it is to be united with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. The imagery in these verses compares the unity of Christ followers with the anointing of Aaron as Chief Priest, which symbolized the uniting of God’s people in worship. The dew in verse three symbolizes the people being refreshed. When the people of God are united as The Church in following our Lord, it is refreshing, renewing, or as David stated, ‘delightfully good’. There may be days we wish we could live as a hermit in seclusion, but the reality is we Need Other people in more ways than we may realize. The first aspect of The Things We Need… Others is seen before sin entered this worl
