The Message!

To often in our busy lives in this modern day we think we need to come up with new and catchy way to share the message of Jesus Christ. To often we may feel like we are to busy explaining what we stand for or why we are against something. In the culture war we are battling, that may be important. To reach each new generation we may need to adjust where and how we portray the message. But the one thing that cannot change is The Message.

The Message is very simple.

There is one and only one way to the Father.

“For God love the world in this way: He gave His one and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” - John 3:16

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” - John 14:6

Buddha, Allah, being a good person, or material possessions are NOT the way to God. The only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ. His death on the cross followed by His resurrection paved the way for all human kind. Jesus IS the Answer.

Since there is only ONE way to the Father, we need to make sure we get that news out to everyone.

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” - Matthew 28:19

Jesus told us to Go! Are you wondering what Jesus created you to do? Are you waiting to hear God? He has already told us what to do. Go spread the Good News and Make Disciples!

While each of us are gifted for different tasks in the Body of Christ, each and every one of us are tasked with Making Disciples. If you are wondering what God wants you to do, the answer is simple share the Gospel with those around you. The more you do, the more your calling will become clear.

“Swing the sickle because the harvest is ripe. Come and trample the grapes because the winepress is full; the wine vats overflow because the wickedness of the nations is great.” - Joel 3:13

The harvest is ready and the winepress is full. There is no other time greater than today to share the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. People are hungry for something or someone to fill the huge gap in their hearts and Jesus is waiting for you to share His message with them.

The Message is simple, there is only ONE way to God. We are the messengers and each one of us have been given the task to Go and Tell.

Do you know The Message? Then Go and Tell as Jesus commanded!

Sticky Statement: Seek God with all that you have and He will restore you!! Misc: Before I get started this morning, I have a service announcement. Some of us have been using the NIV translation for up to 25 years now. Well Zonderzan, the publisher, is updating the NIV Bible. They are coming out with a 2011 version. I tend to be a fan of reading different Bible versions, but I want to caution everyone. The 1984 version of the NIV is a good Bible, a few years back they came out with the TNIV version which was gender neutral in a lot of places that was not right. In some places it referred to God in a gender neutral way, I do not agree with that. Now the new 2011 NIV is based more on the TNIV than the 1984 version of the NIV, so it has roughly 3600 gender ne

My Medical Journey

Hey All, This week is a week of waiting. Last week we found out that I have Acostic Neuroma (AN). This is a tumor growing between the nerves that control hearing, facial function, and balance. For me this is on the left side of the head and has significantly impacted my hearing in my left ear. I do have some very mild symptoms in addition to the hearing loss, but nothing that would have caused me to see the Dr. on their own. For most people this is found when the tumor is 2-4MM, mine is 23 MMs in size. Not uncommon, just that more than 50% of people diagnosed with AN have smaller tumors. For the past week Alexis and I have been doing a LOT of research. Some of it is scary, but some of it is reasuring. Mostly we know that God is in control no matter what. Their are 5 treatment options available for AN. 3 are micro-surgery of the brain and 2 are different radiation programs. Each option has its own set of risks and benefits.
