Sermon - Grace Trumps Sin - Littleby Baptist at New Hope Fulton - October 27, 2019

There is a lot of stuff that happens every day around the world that we do not like. Sometimes it is close to home sickness, pain, financial struggles, loss of a loved one, and more. Then their are those things that seem so big that we are not sure how we can even begin to have an impact. Military conflict, persecution, racism, moral decay, broken families, abortions, and sadly the list goes on. There are a lot of things in this fallen world that breaks God’s heart and hopefully breaks our hearts to. We live in a fallen world and sin and fallen nature can be found in an abundance. How are we as followers of Jesus to respond to all of these things. When the personal struggles get to us, when the darkness in the world wears us down, how are we supposed to respond to a fallen world? Romans 5:12-21 “ 12  Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all people, because all sinned. 13  In fact, sin was in th...

Sermon - Matthew 24:15-28 - A Tribulation Warning - October 20, 2019

False prophets, famine, wars, martyrdom, natural disasters, the revelation of the antichrist, and more. You might think we have talked about all the bad stuff, but as we continue in Matthew 24 we find that Jesus is not done. To Jesus everything that lies ahead is such a big deal that He wants to make sure we have every opportunity to understand what to expect. In addition, the hope is that Jesus’ words will wake up those who are not paying attention and open the eyes and ears of those who are still lost. Matthew 24:15 “ 15  “So when you see the abomination of desolation , spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place” (let the reader understand),” Referencing Daniel 9:27 that we have looked at a time or two already. Daniel 9:27 “He will make a firm covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering. And the abomination of desolation will be on a wing of the temple until the decreed destruction is poure...

Sermon - Matthew 24:9-14 - The Tribulation - October 13, 2019

Did anyone catch the news about the US pulling our troops out of parts of Syria? Isaiah 17:1 “A pronouncement concerning Damascus: Look, Damascus is no longer a city. It has become a ruined heap.” Damascus used to be a prominent city in Syria, and from pictures I have seen it is not far from being that ruined heap today. Many believe that its complete destruction is a sign that the tribulation is near. With the US starting to pull out of Syria and Turkey marching in, it emphasizes the need for us to know and study God’s Word so that we understand what these signs mean. It is easy to find commentaries that express opposing thoughts on the end times. They start at the same place but end up with differing options. A couple of weeks ago we looked a little at the first 3 seals in Revelation chapter 6. These are the seals that represent the coming of the antichrist, wars, and famine. Some will tell you that those events happen prior to the tribulation like labor pains happen prior to...
