Sermon Notes - Romans 14:13-23 - Liberty and Loving Others - Littleby Baptist Church - June 1, 2025

1.         Romans chapter 14 is one of those chapters that really could be a single sermon. 2.         Paul started this chapter encouraging us to welcome other believers. a.         Welcome those who need to grow in their faith. b.        At the same time we are not argue about things that are not called out as sin. c.         Food may have been important at one point. d.        A specific day for the Sabbath or a day of celebration may have been critical according to the OT Law. e.         But none of that is worth arguing over. f.           Follow what you believe. g.         But do not argue over it. h.         Someone fr...

11 Years Post Op - Another step in my AN Journey

A year ago I figured that my 10 year post op message would have been the last one. After all I had received an all clear with no regrowth of my Acoustic Neuroma tumor and had my final MRI prescribed by my surgeon 10 years ago.  A year ago I was still struggling with balance and fatigue and Praise God that has changed. A year ago, I could drive a car for maybe 30 mins and that would take a lot out of me. Recently I spent 7 hours behind the wheel and did just fine.  I write today to encourage everyone to NEVER give up! Whether you are battling the results of an Acoustic Neuroma brain tumor or something else... do not give up! In 2020 I spent a lot of money having more vestibular (balance) testing done for more inconclusive results and the only suggestion from the doc was to try vestibular physical therapy again. This has not worked for me in the past and action made things worse. I did not go that route as I could deal with my limitations at the time, but could not go back...

WOW Acoustic Neuroma Brain Tumor - 10 Years Post Op!!!

Over the last couple of weeks it has slowly been hitting me that it has really been 10 years since I had my Acoustic Neuroma Brain Tumor (AN) removed. Last week I had what is now my last AN follow up MRI. Was able to read the report on Friday and saw that there is still no regrowth, so per my original surgeon and my current doc there is no reason for me to have another scan!!! I wish I could say it was all great, but I still have balance issues.  I was one of those who initially had a great recovery. I returned to work after 8 weeks and while it took me some time to fully recover, their was very little I could not do. For several years the only thing I had to be careful of was if I got to tired as it would trigger mild headaches, fatigue, and balance issues.  In 2013 I drove over 2,000 miles on a road trip we took to see family and was riding a bike 80-100 miles a week. Late in 2013 something changed and I was having a hard time driving 20-30 miles and it was no lo...

It has been 9 years since my AN tumor was removed

May 26, 2010 I was in the operating room for just under 11 hours. Recovery was a bear, especially with the extended stay at Michigan University Hospital due to a CSF Leak. Those first few weeks at home I slept more than I was awake. At 8 weeks post op, I returned to work, today I wish I had taken another week or two as I barely made it through each day. I had to step down from the church I was serving as I did not have the energy to work and pastor. A Lot has changed in 9 years. Today, I continue to work and run the Materials Team for a $300M business. God has opened the door for me to Pastor at Littleby Baptist Church. I serve our town as an Alderman. I continue to write and plan on self publishing my second book this year and have plans for a third in 2020. There was a time that I honestly thought I would have been on disability by now. Having a severed vestibular (balance) nerve was causing significant issues and I was struggling with walking down the hall, let alone driving a...
